I’m not sure who snapped this photo of me hard at work (or playing Candy Crush?) Either way… thank you!

The Nugget Casino, located at 233 N Virginia Street in Reno, is home to the 24-hour Nugget Diner. The Awful Awful, a locally famous burger, draws locals and tourists alike. Four Reynolds Reno Fellows took the hike downtown to see what all the hype was about. “The diner is in the back,” the security guard tells an entering tourist, who clearly is more interested in food than gambling.
EAGERLY ANTICIPATING THE AWFUL AWFUL. Ann Pollard, a Reynolds Reno fellow, waits in line for her order to complete. Short for “Awful big and awful good,” the Awful Awful won an award for the “Best Hamburger in Northern Nevada in 2005.” “I can’t wait to try this,” said Pollard. “I wonder if I can eat the whole thing.”
HARD AT WORK. Reynolds Reno Fellows Rachel Chrest and Ken Porter chow through their meals with ease. The Awful Awful included a half-pound burger with all the fixins’, and a pound of crispy fries. “I thought it was pretty good,” said Porter. “I might come back and get that again.”
